The purpose of the Indian Law Bulletins is to provide succinct and timely information about new developments in Indian Law. See the "about" page for each Bulletin for specific information on monitoring, content selection criteria, and timeliness of publication. NILL welcomes your comments and suggestions on improving this Indian law current awareness service.

Petitions for certiorari were filed in Oglala Sioux Tribe of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation v. United States Army Corps of Engineers (Indian Claims Commission Act) and Stymiest v. United States (Criminal jurisdiction).

U.S. Legislation 111th Congress  |  Current issue  Updated 3/04/10
The current status of all legislation has been updated. Status of bills were updated and the following bill was added:
H.R. 4401 - Title: To amend the Act of August 9, 1955, to modify a provision relating to leases involving certain Indian tribes.
S. 2893 - Title: A bill to amend the Controlled Substances Import and Export Act to prevent the use of Indian reservations located on the United States borders to facilitate cross-border drug trafficking, and for other purposes.
S. 3058 - Title: A bill to amend the Public Health Service Act to reauthorize the special diabetes programs for Type I diabetes and Indians under that Act.
